Terms & Conditions
Last updated May 8, 2026.
These terms govern use of the FirstIn Preplan website, trial signup, department workspaces, subscription features, and related services.
Use of the website and service
You may use FirstIn Preplan to learn about the product, request a demo, start a 14-day trial, manage department preplan data, and access your authorized department workspace. You agree not to use the site or service for unlawful activity, unauthorized access, interference with availability, reverse engineering, abuse of trial limits, or attempts to bypass security controls.
Authority and department accounts
If you create or administer a department account, you represent that you are authorized to do so for that department or organization. Department admins are responsible for the accuracy of account details, invitations, personnel access, roles, contact information, and the operational data entered into the service. Keep login credentials confidential and notify us if you believe an account has been accessed without authorization.
Trial access and evaluation data
Trial accounts are provided for evaluation and may begin as empty workspaces. Departments are responsible for entering or importing their own operational data. Trial accounts currently run for 14 days. When a trial expires, editing may be disabled until the department activates a paid subscription. Trial data may be deleted after the post-trial retention period described in the Privacy Policy.
Operational content and emergency use
FirstIn Preplan is a planning, reference, and administrative tool. It is not a dispatch system, CAD system, emergency alerting system, or substitute for department policies, incident command, training, local procedures, or professional judgment. You are responsible for verifying preplans, hydrant data, personnel information, tactical notes, maps, photos, files, and any other content before relying on it in training or operations.
Customer content and uploads
Your department retains ownership of the information it submits, uploads, imports, or creates in the service. You grant FirstIn Preplan the limited permission needed to host, process, display, secure, back up, transmit, and support that content for the service. Do not upload information, photos, files, maps, or personnel details unless you have the right to use and share them with your authorized department users.
Billing and subscriptions
Paid subscriptions are billed through Stripe. Prices, billing cadence, available plans, volunteer pricing, and product features may change over time. Unless a separate written agreement says otherwise, subscription fees are billed in advance and renew automatically until canceled through the billing portal or another approved cancellation method. Taxes, chargebacks, failed payments, and refunds are handled according to Stripe, the applicable payment method rules, and any written agreement we have with the department.
Notifications, SMS, and communications
Department admins may send in-app notifications and, when configured, optional SMS messages to personnel with saved phone numbers. By entering phone numbers or sending SMS messages through the service, the department is responsible for having appropriate permission from recipients and for using messaging features in a lawful and operationally appropriate way. Email, SMS, and in-app messages may not be delivered immediately or at all and should not be used as the sole method for emergency communication.
Third-party services
The service may rely on third-party providers for hosting, authentication, database services, file storage, payments, maps, geocoding, email, SMS, logs, security, and related operations. Examples may include providers such as Vercel, Supabase, Stripe, Twilio, and mapping providers. Their services may be subject to their own terms, policies, availability, and processing practices.
Service changes and availability
We may update, add, remove, or change features, pricing, trial limits, workflows, and design at any time. We work to keep the service available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. Maintenance, outages, provider issues, security events, or internet connectivity may affect availability.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access if an account appears fraudulent, abusive, unpaid, unsafe, unauthorized, or in violation of these terms. Departments may request account assistance or cancellation by contacting us. Some records may be retained as needed for billing, security, legal, compliance, backup, or legitimate business purposes.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The service is provided on an as-is and as-available basis to the fullest extent permitted by law. We disclaim implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the fullest extent permitted by law, FirstIn Preplan will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, operational, emergency-response, lost-profit, lost-data, or similar damages arising from use of or inability to use the service.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the website, trial, partner program, billing model, or service changes. The updated version will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued use of the website or service after an update means you accept the updated terms.
